Wife and husband team Charlotte and Rhys Williams took over at the neighbouring Dunoon Hotel 20 years ago this June and in that time they have embarked on a relentless quest for quality. Their team at the Dunoon has added a fourth star, 2 AA rosettes for culinary excellence, Visit Wales Gold Awards and been named best hotel in North Wales.
They have always had their eye on the steadily crumbling heap next door, which they have now transformed into 18 stunning bedrooms upstairs (to go with the 48 they already have at the Dunoon) and the eye-catching new restaurant downstairs. With the Next Door Hotel and Restaurant, they are very much the old-ish kids on the brand new block.
Charlotte and Rhys are proud to champion North Wales and the brilliant producers, suppliers and trades that drive the regional economy. The real essential workers. From the local plumbers, joiners, electricians, plasterers, decorator and tiler who made the transformation of Next Door possible, to the brewers, farmers, coffee roasters and fishmongers who will help us bring the true taste of North Wales from field and sea to the table. Charlotte and Rhys say their approach is not only about delivering top quality with people they trust, but also about ensuring that as much as possible of the money spent in the region stays in the region.
